Single Pane of Glass

Unified view

Definition

Single Pane of Glass (SPoG, unified view) refers to displaying core information such as card management, usage, billing, and alarms on a single interface, avoiding switching between multiple systems. In the International IoT Cloud Platform (ICMP), Single Pane of Glass works together with Global Dashboard and KPI Dashboard to provide operators with a one-stop view, improving the efficiency and observability of cross-border connection management.

Working Principle

Single Pane of Glass aggregates and visualizes data, integrating key metrics scattered across BSS, OSS, billing, usage, and other systems into a unified interface. Typical modules include: Device Overview — number of activations, online devices, Suspension count; Usage and Cost — Usage Aggregation summary, CDR trends, Unified Invoice status; Alarms and Events — abnormalities and quota alarms pushed by Event Subscription; Geographical Distribution — device and usage distribution displayed by country and PLMN. Supports multi-tenant, multi-role views, allowing different customers and Resellers to see different ranges of data.

Use Cases

Typical scenarios include: Daily Operations — Operations personnel complete device monitoring, usage verification, and exception handling through a single interface; Cost Control — In combination with Usage Analytics and TCO analysis, high-cost devices or areas are identified within a unified view; Customer Service — Customer service can query customer device status, usage, and billing on a single interface, responding quickly to inquiries; Management Reporting — KPI Dashboard provides executives with the summarized metrics they need to support decision-making. In cross-border scenarios, the unified view needs to support display across multiple regions, currencies, and time zones.

Practice in ICMP

SimtoLink ICMP's Global Dashboard implements the Single Pane of Glass concept, integrating device management, usage, billing, alarms, PLMN Selection configuration, and other capabilities within a single interface. Supports filtering by customer, project, and region; Resellers can view their downstream customer range. In combination with KPI Dashboard , it provides configurable KPI cards and trend charts. Through Event Subscription and real-time push, alarms and exceptions can be displayed immediately, supporting 24/7 operations and rapid response.
